The highly anticipated opening, which marks Steak 'n Shake's coast-to-coast expansion, was celebrated by Steak 'n Shake fans with a special ribbon cutting ceremony and launch party fit for Hollywood.
The restaurant features a counter-service model, offers a simple menu consisting of only the freshest ingredients, and serves up its famous 100% beef Original Double 'n Cheese Steakburger, along with hand-dipped milkshakes. The Santa Monica Steak 'n Shake also features "The Signature Steakburger®" – a thick, six-ounce, all natural 100% beef Steakburger made of only the top grade of the finest cuts of meat, with no preservatives, hormones or antibiotics. The menu also features Thin 'n Crispy fries that are fresh, hand-cut daily in the restaurant and created from the finest russet potatoes. The innovative restaurant also serves beer and fine wine.
The restaurant's ambience is unmatched with architecture designed to be sleek, modern, inviting and suitable for everyone's enjoyment. The venue also takes advantage of Santa Monica's sunshine with outside seating where guests who can enjoy a view of the Promenade.

The first 100 customers in line for the grand opening celebration received free Steak 'n Shake for a year.
