Stax Inc. Brings Aboard Two Experienced Consulting Directors
BOSTON, May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Stax, the global strategy consulting firm, is pleased to welcome Prashant Tewari and Palash Misra, two highly seasoned professionals who have joined its Boston office as directors.
Prashant will be leading relationships for private equity and corporate clients. He has over 16 years of corporate strategy and organic and acquisitive growth globally. Prashant is an expert in M&A, investment due diligence, growth strategy, new product/market entry, international expansion, and business transformation. He has consulted for businesses in the financial, technology, and the industrial manufacturing and chemicals sectors. He has significant global exposure and has lived and worked in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Prashant comes to Stax from his own consulting firm serving both corporate and private equity clients. Before that, he was at global asset manager AllianceBernstein, where one of his major roles was creating new products and acquiring new services on asset management and investment strategy. He was also an engagement manager at McKinsey & Co., as well as a banker at Standard Chartered Bank, where he advised US and European businesses on M&A and capital structure issues. Prashant holds an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Management; another Master's degree in Business from the Indian Institute of Management, where he was awarded the Director's medal for academic excellence; and a B.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology.
Palash—who worked at Stax from 1999 to 2003—is rejoining our firm after seven years as the Corporate Strategy and Development Director at Monster Worldwide. With more than 14 years in corporate and strategy consulting roles, Palash brings a strong background in both strategic synthesis and implementation across a variety of project types—M&A/due diligence, growth assessments, identification of new market opportunities, and competitive strategy.
At Monster, his responsibilities included leading, assessing, and executing strategic investments and acquisitions to expand Monster's footprint, boost international reach, and grow share across key markets. Within flagship markets, Palash evaluated Monster's business unit performance, focusing on market trends, growth opportunities, and customer and competitive strategies to increase business unit profitability.
During his earlier Stax tenure, Palash partnered with Fortune 500 and leading private equity clients to address their strategic due diligence needs, working heavily in the internet technology, healthcare, and retail sectors—and with many of the same clients he'll be assisting today. He also authored one of the first-ever research reports on the internet incubation industry, receiving citation from National Public Radio and The Wall Street Journal. Before that, he worked with Capgemini Consulting.
Palash holds an M.B.A. with Honors from the Wharton School of Business & Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Economics from Bowdoin College, where he graduated summa cum laude.
"We're excited to add two consulting professionals of Prashant and Palash's caliber to our leadership team," commented Stax President Mark Bremer. "They bring even more depth to Stax's long-standing strength in strategy, profit improvement, and M&A due diligence. The fact that we've brought them on board speaks to how quickly demand is expanding for the high-quality services that Stax offers."
