SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Stater Bros. Markets, in conjunction with its charitable arm Stater Bros. Charities, will be "Harvesting Hope In Our Community" throughout the months of November and December. By pairing cash with product donations, Stater Bros. is making a bigger impact in the fight against hunger in the communities where its customers and employees live and work.
- Stater Bros. Charities is presenting cash donations totaling over $450,000 to food banks and feeding programs in the six Southern California counties served by Stater Bros. Supermarkets.
- Food Donation Barrels are in place at all Stater Bros. Supermarkets to collect nonperishable food items for those who are struggling. To make donating easier for shoppers, specially produced grocery bags containing critical food bank necessities are available for less than $10.
- Customers can make additional cash donations at the time of check out, and these funds will be donated to local food banks in the summer of 2015, when their food reserves are traditionally low.
- Stater Bros. is partnering with KTLA-TV for a special one-day donation/food collection event on Tuesday, November 25th at three Stater Bros. Supermarkets located in Chino, Placentia and Santa Clarita.
- The traditional Salvation Army Red Kettles will be in front of Stater Bros. Supermarkets from November 17th through December 23rd collecting nickels, dimes and quarters to help those who are most vulnerable in the community where the donations are made.
- Stater Bros. is committed to helping all the customers it serves by keeping prices low.
