Statement from ROSATOM in Response to the Arrest of Vadim Mikerin in Maryland, USA
MOSCOW, November 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
ROSATOM has been informed that Vadim Mikerin, the Director General of TENAM USA, was among a group of US-based individuals charged by the District Attorney in Maryland with conspiracy to commit extortion. This followed an investigation by the US Department of Energy and the FBI into contracts awarded over a number of years by TENAM USA to Maryland-based Transport Logistics International, Inc. (TLI).
ROSATOM has a zero-tolerance policy on corruption in all of its national and international activities, and in the interests of justice, would welcome the opportunity to contribute to enquiries into the alleged American fraud, including through representation at any court proceedings. So far the company has at no point been contacted by any US agency in relation to the case. ROSATOM has meanwhile launched its own internal investigation into the historic relationship between TENAM USA and TLI.
