Staples Taps Tilson for Back-to-School Campaign for Third Year
South Florida PR Agency Wins Bell Ringer Awards for 2009 Program
BOCA RATON, Fla., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Staples Inc., the world's largest office products company, has selected Tilson Communications to lead its back-to-school public relations program for the third consecutive year. Tilson, a full-service public relations firm, delivered successful Back-to-School results in 2008, and received two Bell Ringer Awards for its work in 2009: the Gold Bell for the Do Something 101 cause marketing campaign and the Silver Bell for the Back-to-School media relations efforts. The Bell Ringer Awards, sponsored by The Publicity Club of New England, recognize and honor excellence and achievement in the communications and public relations professions.
"Tilson continues to deliver high-level, impactful campaigns for Staples," said Paul Capelli, Vice President of Staples Public Relations at Staples. "We've been working with Tilson for more than six years on various PR efforts, and we are looking forward to another stellar year for back-to-school."
A cornerstone of the national multi-layered back-to-school campaign is the annual Staples/Do Something 101 School Supply Drive, for which Tilson will help execute with strategic communications, community outreach and media relations.
This year, Nikki Reed of Twilight fame will be the spokesperson for the campaign, encouraging teens to make a difference by collecting school supplies and dropping them off at Staples stores nationwide for students in need. American Idol™ winner Jordin Sparks and Grammy® award-winning singer-songwriter Ciara supported the campaign for the previous two years.
