Stanley Furniture Introduces European Farmhouse, A Fresh New Take On Traditional European
STANLEYTOWN, Va., April 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stanley Furniture, the industry's leader in the design of residential wood furnishings, proves that rustic elegance and casual sophistication are a winning combination with the introduction of European Farmhouse, an all new collection debuting at this spring's High Point Furniture Market.

"We wanted to create a look that was both traditional and fresh," said Adam Tilley, Stanley Furniture Company's VP of Product Management. "European Farmhouse is a marriage of what's currently trending in the market and the timeless designs and appropriate scale that we can all feel comfortable with. It's designed to represent a lifestyle that works in virtually any home."
According to Tilley, the collection is inspired by the bucolic Western European countryside of France, Belgium and the Netherlands. It features elegant shapes, livable scale and a mix of materials. "European Farmhouse is a collection that's collected. It matches and it meshes. It defies regionality," added Tilley.
The 45+ piece collection features a fresh finish palette and signature pieces for every room in the home. Two interchangeable finishes – "Blond" and "Terrain" – provide the foundation for the collection's canvas. "Blond is a natural, close-to-the-wood matte finish with a cream colored accent glaze, while Terrain is a rich, hand-waxed coffee tone with artisanal distressing. Both represent the subtle detailing that is a hallmark of European Farmhouse," explained Tilley.
The collection's palette also includes two unique painted finishes and two types of metal accents – each available on select pieces. "Chalkboard," a dusty black finish, and "Temps," a labor-intensive, artistic blend of French gray and cream add style and depth to the collection while antique pewter and brass accents lend a different level of sophistication.
"European Farmhouse offers compelling value that's easily discernible," said Glenn Prillaman, Stanley Furniture's President & CEO. "As the market continues to flood with commodity products, we feel passionate about offering collections that showcase exceptional materials, fine craftsmanship and an elegant blend of finishes."
"This is not another 'me too' European collection. It's an evocative tapestry that stands apart, a new take on European that we believe feels just right," added Tilley.
European Farmhouse by Stanley Furniture will begin shipping in August 2010. For more information about the new collection visit StanleySpringMarket.com.
