St. Joseph Health and Dātu Health Extend Partnership to Accelerate Digital Health Innovation Development
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Digital consumer engagement platform developer, Dātu Health, announced today a new partnership with St. Joseph Health (SJH) to expand development efforts for Dātu's Digital Encounter Platform. The arrangement will serve to triple Dātu's software development capacity over the next six months.
The news comes on the heels of Dātu's recent selection as a finalist in the Mayo Clinic THINK BIG Challenge, and the announcement of an additional $10M equity investment from SJH.
Under the arrangement, Dātu will collaborate with and share development efforts with complementary innovative healthcare companies in the SJH technology investment portfolio. Dātu's Boulder, CO, based development work will be relocated to Orange County, CA, in an accelerator-style partnership.
The move will advance Dātu's Persuasion Engine™ technology that enables health systems to influence personal behavior and advance population health management objectives through an engaging, consumer mobile experience. Powered by proven behavioral models, Dātu's Persuasion Engine is a set of rules, content and "nudges" aligned with health system programs for clinical care and consumers' unique needs and expectations.
"Dātu is thrilled to have this continued support and leadership from SJH and their unwavering commitment to innovations driving consumer focused healthcare," says Andy Parham, Dātu CEO. "This partnership will accelerate the growth of our platform while significantly extending the runway provided by our recent Series B financing round."
Bill Russell, CIO of St. Joseph Health System, and leader of the system's investments in digital health, describes Dātu as "a cornerstone of our platform to support rapid innovation focused on the consumer and provider experience. With the intelligence that comes from the Persuasion Engine™, we and other health systems will be able to harness the power of the personal to deliver the highest clinical outcomes at the best value to everyone in our communities."
