As a show of force, SRS demonstrated its commitment to the mobile segment during MWC by introducing several of its multimedia audio solutions on leading mobile Operating System platforms, including: Android, LiMo and Symbian. In addition, the company also announced its expanded strategic relationships with AnyData, Broadcom, Khronos and Lenovo Mobile. By facilitating availability of some of the most popular and advanced SRS audio and voice technologies on major OS platforms, SRS brings its expertise and know-how in addressing audio and voice challenges to the mobile category, which is experiencing a rapid expansion in the multimedia-centric Smart Phone and Feature Phone categories.
Audio performance has become a significant purchasing factor as consumers shop for more sophisticated mobile phones. In a recent MarketTools study conducted in November 2009 in United States, 92 percent of the survey respondents indicated that the quality of sound is important to very important when purchasing a mobile phone. In addition, a mere 22 percent of the respondents indicated their satisfaction with the mobile phones they were using at the time of the survey. Both indicators above clearly illustrate the need for advanced multimedia solution such as SRS TruMedia™, WOW HD™ and Max-V™.
"Just because your mobile phone is small and fits in your pocket, doesn't mean that the entertainment experience must be undersized and one-dimensional," said Allen H. Gharapetian, Vice President of Marketing for SRS Labs. "SRS Labs has made significant strides within the mobile space, and is confident that the end result for consumers, whether they use a Android, LiMo, Symbian or Windows Mobile device will be unlike anything they've ever experienced."
