Springboard Delivers Big Returns In Its First Decade
Forecasts Bigger Returns by 2020: $20 billion Revenues & 100,000 New Jobs
WASHINGTON, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- By 2010, Springboard Enterprises portfolio of Women-Led Big Businesses Starting Small contributed 10,000 new jobs to the economy and billions in revenues and these numbers are predicted to more than quadruple by 2020. While the current numbers are impressive, they far surpass the modest predictions made in 2000 of money raised and sustainable businesses created by women entrepreneurs. In the decade since Springboard has become the platform on which an international network of investors and industry experts meet promising high growth companies led by women and build world class businesses together.
The 407 companies Springboard showcased at Springboard forums since 2000 are driving innovation, creating jobs and building new age, world class businesses. "The women we recruit who launch and lead these businesses are at the top of their game," remarked Kay Koplovitz, chair and co-founder of Springboard. "They are bringing to the market companies that will improve productivity, enhance medical science, ensure healthier living and innovate the way we communicate."
Springboard has announced its 2010 program schedule which includes two venture forums, four financial seminars sponsored by NASDAQ OMX and Capital One Bank, a bi-annual Caucus for Springboard alumnae and advisors, and the annual Winners' Circle Dinner. Each year via these programs, the organization recruits, coaches and promotes some of the most promising women-led ventures in technology, biotech, healthcare, clean tech and digital media for their product launch in the commercial marketplace.
International recruitment of women-led ventures seeking investment capital for life science/clean tech and media companies has begun. The search is on for a new group of game changers to follow Springboard portfolio successes like Zipcar, Minute Clinic, ViaCell, Constant Contact, Xenogen, Circles, Geomagic, Blurb, and wowOwow.
