SportsSpread Reports Major Increase in Online Business
DUBLIN, May 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ --
- Spread Betting Firm Sees Uplift From new Website and Digital Marketing Ahead of World Cup
SportsSpread.com, Ireland's best value sports spread betting company, has today reported a significant increase in new clients and online betting activities, following the re-launch of its website and the start of a major digital marketing campaign.
Established in 2000, SportsSpread offers its clients spread betting services on a range of sporting and political markets, both online at http://www.sportsspread.com and via its Trading Desk, which is located in Dublin's financial services district.
Online Q1 bet volumes increased by 50% year-on-year and the firm also reports a 300% increase in new client acquisition in the same period.
The rollout of a new corporate brand identity and World Cup 2010 marketing activity has seen an increase in the number of client reactivations - as previous customers return to the new-look spread betting company.
An aggressive online marketing campaign including improved Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC) activity as well as the harnessing of new social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter has aided new client acquisition.
The company was the subject of a Management Buy Out (MBO) in April 2009 led by Dublin businessman Mr. Fergus Rice and it has recently named former Betfair Ireland Manager, Eoin Ryan, as its new Managing Director.
Commenting on his first year as owner of SportsSpread.com, Mr. Fergus Rice said:
"We are very pleased with progress in our first year. The addition of new personnel, including Eoin Ryan as MD and the targeting of the online betting market have seen us drive growth in bet numbers and new clients. We're also looking forward to a busy summer, with World Cup 2010 set to smash all records in terms of the amount wagered online by punters," Mr. Rice said.
He also pledged that SportsSpread.com would make more inroads into the highly lucrative UK market.
"We're planning to launch a new trading platform over the next year and we will then compete aggressively on price and value terms in the UK market. We believe there is a clear opportunity for us to gain market share there and the initial results back that up. We fully intend taking the fight to them.''
