Spenta and Beezy CEO to Present at the Competitiveness Council of the European Union
BARCELONA, February 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Spenta, one of the most innovative cloud software companies, today announced it has been invited by the Danish Ministry of Business and Growth to participate in the Informal Competitiveness Council 2012. Jordi Plana, Spenta and Beezy Founder and CEO, will present on innovation, cloud computing and the barriers for competitiveness within the EU. The session will be held on Friday, February 03, 2012 at 10:30 at the Bella Centre in Copenhagen.
"We are honored that the Danish Ministry of Business and Growth has invited Spenta as one of the most innovative European cloud software companies. This is a recognition that Spenta is making an impact on how organizations work, making them more efficient by the use of our cloud solutions" saidJordi Plana.
The Informal Competitiveness Council will focus on the creation of a Digital Single Market. A digital single market, where consumers feel comfortable shopping across borders using the internet, where businesses can sell goods and services via the internet and develop new innovative products and where public services are available on-line. The main objective of the meeting is to reach a common understanding of concrete actions to take towards creating a well-functioning digital single market.
"The flexibility and the economies of scale with cloud computing brings unprecedented opportunities for both buyers and providers. But all the potential the cloud offers is not being leveraged by public organizations due to unfounded fear of security as well as fear of not being compliant with EU policies. A change of mindset is needed and a better dialogue with the industry early on in the procurement process " noted Plana.
The Competitiveness Council of the European Union consists of the 27 ministers responsible for competitiveness policies concerning the single market in Europe. The Competitiveness Council typically meets four times a year for formal meetings in Brussels and twice a year for informal discussions in the home country of the President. Informal Competitiveness Council meetings focus on how to move forward on the European growth agenda.
