IRVINE, Calif., March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Specific Media, a digital media company, today announced that it has appointed Larry Madden as chief financial officer. In his new role, Madden will focus on finance, accounting and tax activities across Specific Media and its affiliate brands, including Myspace.

Madden brings over 25 years of finance experience to his new role, having worked with some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the media and entertainment industries. Prior to joining Specific Media in September 2012, Larry most recently worked with Robert Sillerman as CFO of SFX Entertainment and with Simon Fuller as CFO of both 19 Entertainment and XIX Entertainment.
Larry also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Weinstein Company, a full service movie and TV production company where he was instrumental in helping the company raise nearly $2 billion of capital. Prior to the Weinstein Company, Larry spent over 10 years as a finance executive and CFO of several media companies in the public and private sectors, including Loudeye, EMAK Worldwide, Atomic Pop, Def Jam Recordings, and PolyGram International.

Larry began his career in public accounting for eight years at Ernst & Young working on media and entertainment accounts. Larry received a BS in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from New York University.
