SparkPeople Uncovers Trends and Themes of Fitness and Health 2014 New Year's Resolutions
CINCINNATI, Jan. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SparkPeople, the largest online healthy lifestyle community that provides 15 million users with nutrition, health and fitness tools, partnered with consumer research company, Survata, to reveal the hot topics of health and fitness 2014 News Year's resolutions.
The results of the SparkPeople survey show that 34% of women named Jennifer Aniston as their body look-a-like goal with Beyonce close on her heels at 26%. Surprisingly, Cameron Diaz was last on the list with 10.76%, showing that women's body goals may be shifting in 2014. When asked what women would sacrifice to reach weight loss goals chocolate was the first to go, but only 4% percent would unplug and sacrifice their internet access to achieve their health & fitness resolutions.
Survata and SparkPeople surveyed nearly 500 women to identify the drivers of their 2014 health and fitness resolutions. Questions covered a broad range of topics including celebrity body type goals, most popular fitness activities, bad eating habits to break, and more.
Additional findings include:
- Top Fitness Trend of 2014 – Exercise more (45%)
- Most Popular 2014 Fitness Activities – Yoga (29.29%), Running (29.29%)
- Eating Habits to Improve in 2014 – Eating too much sugar (37.99%), Emotional eating (33.41%), Oversized portions (32.27%)
- Most popular thing to give up to reach weight loss goals was Chocolate (34.55%)
