S&P Valuation and Risk Strategies Leverages 1010data Platform to Develop Investor Analytics for U.S. Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities
Individual loan-level performance analysis helps investors evaluate exposure and risk within securitized portfolios
NEW YORK, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P Valuation and Risk Strategies, an independent and analytically separate business unit within Standard & Poor's that provides users with market intelligence and analytic insight for risk-driven investment analysis, today announced an agreement to offer new investor analytics for U.S. residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) using the 1010data service. 1010data provides data warehouse and business intelligence products and services to the MBS market through partnerships with leading data vendors like S&P. This partnership makes S&P's database of individual loan-level information available via 1010data's service.
S&P Valuation and Risk Strategies' RMBS database provides investors with available loan-level performance data on subprime, alternative-A, prime jumbo and additional collateral type loans. S&P's granular loan-level data typically includes static origination details, as well as dynamic performance data such as delinquency status, current balance, current interest rate and more. All information is sourced directly from mortgage servicers, master servicers and trustees; and robust data quality standards are in place to maximize the accuracy of the data. The strategic relationship with 1010data allows investors to tailor analytics around each individual loan within a mortgage-backed portfolio.
"Working with 1010data, we are able to deliver a comprehensive risk management solution to investors," said Jonathan Reeve, managing director, S&P Valuation and Risk Strategies. "RMBS investors will now be able to perform loan-level and performance trends analyses that quickly dig down into the foundational components of their portfolios in a way that was never before possible."
"Transparency is at the forefront of investors' minds, and the need to easily consume robust loan-level data to track market and portfolio exposure is a key concern," said Greg Munves, vice president, 1010data. "Working with S&P to offer this data via our proven analytics platform gives our joint customers the immediate ability to better manage risk."
