South Minneapolis Housing & Home Improvement Fair Celebrates 16th Annual Event on March 6, 2010

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- South High School -- South High Community Education and South Minneapolis' Neighborhood Associations proudly present the 16th Annual South Minneapolis Housing & Home Improvement Fair on March 6, 2010, from 10am to 3pm at South High School.  The event, free and open to the public, provides attendees a "one stop shop" opportunity to learn more about how to finance and complete their home improvement projects and navigate city living.  Each year, the event draws around 2,000 visitors from the Twin Cities metro area.

The 2010 Fair will include nearly 100 reputable and local contractors, retailers, Real Estate agents, lenders, and community organizations exhibiting their products and services.  In addition, attendees will have access to representatives from energy, affordable housing, green homes and neighborhood associations to answer questions.  Food and beverage for purchase will be available, including pizza from Pizza Luce.  Children in attendance have the opportunity to take home a special "build your own" woodcraft project, free to those under the age of 12.

Apart from visiting the exhibit hall, fairgoers have multiple opportunities to attend free educational sessions at the event.  These seminars are taught by local professionals on home improvement, safety, home purchase, decorating, financing and more.  Some examples of seminar topics for 2010 include: 10 Ways to Save Energy...and Change Other Stuff, Too!, Distressed Homes For Sale, Home Electrical Wiring Systems, Plumbing Repair Basics for the Home, and others yet to be announced. The Fair will give away over $2000 in complimentary housing-related door prizes to attendees.
