Sotera® Wireless Names Dr. Benjamin Kanter Chief Medical Officer
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sotera® Wireless today announced that Dr. Benjamin Kanter has joined the Company as chief medical officer. Dr. Kanter, an experienced healthcare technology leader, will deploy his expertise to advance Sotera's clinical initiatives relevant to continuous patient monitoring.

Dr. Kanter spent the last eight years as chief medical information officer at Palomar Health. At Palomar he was responsible for the development of clinical information systems. He led Palomar Health's electronic health record implementation resulting in the uniform adoption of computerized physician order entry and electronic physician documentation among many other systems.
Dr. Kanter has a special interest in mobile health and co-developed the Medical Information Anywhere Anytime (MIAA) system, a mobile enterprise health record system that was licensed to AirStrip Technology in 2012. He also designed and worked on the development of a "reverse lookup" smartphone app that allows physicians to search for patients and immediately identify and contact their assigned nurse, improving physician-nurse communication.
Dr. Kanter received his medical degree from Northwestern University and completed his post-doctoral studies in both pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the U.C. San Diego Health System. Dr. Kanter is board certified in pulmonary disease, internal medicine, medical informatics, and received special certification in critical care. He has published and presented extensively on the integration of technology and medicine.
