Sonus® and Starkey Hearing Technologies Partnering to Help California Wildfire Victims

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., Feb. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sonus Hearing Care Professionals^® announced and Starkey Hearing Technologies will be working hand in hand to bring the gift of hearing back to some families devastated by wildfires in 2015. 

Several families lost everything after fleeing the destructive fires in Northern California, including the Valley Fire and Butte Fire, that destroyed hundreds of homes last September and October. Many families were forced to flee with only what they could carry and then were left with nothing after the fires ripped through. After exhausting all other options the Red Cross reached out to Sonus to see if there was any help available to families that lost their hearing aids in the fire, but had no other resources to get them replaced or get new hearing aids. Now Sonus and Starkey will be working together to provide free hearing aids to four adults and a child.

It's expected to be a very emotional day on Thursday, February 11, 2016 when at least three of the five California wildfire victims will be visiting the Walnut Creek location (formerly The Hearing Aid Store, 1844 San Miguel Drive, Suite 302, Walnut Creek, CA, 94596) to get their new hearing aids. A Starkey representative and a representative of the Red Cross are also expected to be on hand for the hearing aid fittings.
