MADISON, Wis., April 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonic Foundry, Inc.(Nasdaq: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, will welcome webcasting professionals from around the world, both in person and online, during its fourth annual Mediasite user conference, UNLEASH 2010, held April 12-14 at Monona Terrace in Madison, Wis.
The conference builds upon the theme "UNLEASH the Knowledge", and will link a global network of individuals in education, business and government, discussing best practices and challenges, and offering input on the future of rich media.
In-person attendees represent 27 states and 8 countries. This year also represents the strongest virtual presence to date, with 35 percent more individuals attending virtually than last year. All attendees will have access to 35 conference sessions streamed live and on-demand, as well as unparalleled networking via advanced social networking platforms including:

- Twitter. Participants are using #mediasite or http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23mediasite to follow the conversation.

- World of Webcast, the Sonic Foundry corporate blog.
- Flickr for sharing conference photos.
"UNLEASH helps to tie us together as a community. The online link to Sonic Foundry and the Mediasite User Group is invaluable, and I'm also able to learn so much during those spontaneous conversations at UNLEASH. The variety of sessions is also amazing - so many to choose from and a chance to catch the ones I can't get to later, online," said Cheryl Johnson, Anchorage School District.
"We understand the economic barriers that are making it difficult to allocate resources for professional development, and we are appreciative of our customers who continue to find value in the learning environment we create for them each year in Madison," said Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and CEO of Sonic Foundry. "Whether they are with us in person or participating from their desktops, we are pleased to be able to offer our customers many opportunities to share their knowledge and expertise, and are grateful for their continued loyalty and partnership."
UNLEASH 2009 won a Forrester Groundswell Award in the Business-to-Business Energizing category for its integrated campaign that successfully leveraged online video, webcasts via Mediasite, email and social media to increase attendance by 15 percent in the face of an economic crisis.
