Sonic Foundry Partners With EduComm to Launch First Fully-Live Hybrid Conference
All sessions streamed to a live virtual audience via Mediasite
ORLANDO, Fla., June 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- EduComm Booth #305 -- Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting, lecture capture and knowledge management, today announced the company will once again use the Mediasite platform to webcast all sessions of EduComm 2011, held this week in Orlando.
For the first time in Sonic Foundry's eight-year partnership with EduComm all sessions will be streamed live to an online audience, including two full days of pre-conference tracks, all keynotes and five concurrent tracks.
"Each year with Sonic Foundry's webcasting expertise, EduComm takes another step into the virtual world. This is the first year we're going full force with a live stream of our event and we're very excited about it," said Stephanie Martinez, CIO of University Business. "To reach our goal of educating our members through quality content and growing the virtual audience, we've more than tripled the number of sessions we're offering."
Ms. Martinez continued, "While we're capable of using Mediasite on our own for smaller events throughout the year, when it comes to EduComm our event staff needs support to capture multiple concurrent breakout sessions, keynote sessions and two full-day pre-conference events. Sonic Foundry Event Services provides us with a project manager and the technical support to stream, host and report engagement on all of our conference content. Mediasite also allows us to achieve a high level of engagement with our virtual attendees."
