Sonic Executives Provide Insights Into Emerging Entertainment Markets
Present at Premier Conferences Discussing 3D Movies, Digital Streaming, and Universal Device Access
NOVATO, Calif., April 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonic Solutions® (Nasdaq: SNIC) today announced participation in a series of major entertainment events and executive tradeshows this spring, including NAB, Digital Hollywood, and Connections: The Digital Living Conference and Showcase. Sonic Solution's president and CEO, Dave Habiger, will join top executives from major Studios, retail chains, and technology firms, to discuss the future of entertainment and provide insights into the new models and opportunities emerging for multi-screen, over-the-top video services.
This May, at Digital Hollywood, a leading entertainment trade conference attracting executives from film, television, cable, and computing industries, Mr. Habiger will join a panel that includes representatives from Best Buy and HP, to discuss the market impact and potential for Web-delivered entertainment. In June, Mr. Habiger will be teamed with top executives from Disney and Sony at the Copyright and Technology Conference in New York. The group will discuss their involvement with initiatives such as KeyChest, DECE and Roxio CinemaNow™ aimed at providing consumers extensive, multi-device access to their digital movie purchases.
Also speaking at a major event this spring is Jim Taylor, Sonic's Chief Technologist. Mr. Taylor is participating in the Digital Cinema Summit at NAB on a panel discussing the various methods for delivering 3D entertainment to the home. During the session, Mr. Taylor will outline the tools and technologies involved in using the Roxio CinemaNow entertainment platform to electronically deliver 3D content to broadband-connected Blu-ray Disc players and HDTVs.
