WALLDORF, Germany, April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) has made significant gains toward building out the SAP® Cloud powered by SAP HANA®. The company today announced solutions powered by SAP HANA® offered via subscription, including new subscription models for SAP® Business Suite via the SAP HANA® Enterprise Cloud service. With the expansion of new global data centers and enhanced migration services, customers now have a clear and easy journey to the cloud. These advancements provide ultimate access to SAP HANA, greater choice of deployment and simplicity to customers.
"Today is a significant step forward for SAP's transformation, as we are not only emphasizing our commitment to the cloud with new subscription offerings for SAP HANA, we are also increasing the choice and simplicity to deploy SAP HANA," said Dr. Vishal Sikka, member of the Executive Board of SAP AG, Products & Innovation. "In addition, we are expanding our global presence with a comprehensive in memory-centric data center plan, dramatically simplifying our customers' IT landscapes."
SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud Offered as Full Subscription
As a global leader in applications, SAP plans to help customers such as McLaren, Schaidt Innovations and Levi Strauss transition their landscapes from on premise to a hybrid or full cloud strategy non-disruptively. Customers want the richness of SAP Business Suite but the flexibility, user experience and rapid pace of innovation of the cloud business. SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud now offers rich applications such as SAP Business Suite, the SAP® Business Warehouse application and the SAP HANA platform on a subscription model. It is being offered securely from regional SAP data centers around the world. This new offering allows customers to run their mission-critical SAP applications in a private managed cloud environment. It complements the recent SAP HANA Cloud Platform announcement made in March, which enables customers to extend, build and run new cloud applications on top of the SAP HANA platform. Some restrictions may apply for customer- and product-specific configurations.
Enhanced Cloud Migration Services
With enhanced service offering for cloud migration, the SAP Services organization offers customers choice and simplified migration of SAP applications to the cloud. Customers benefit from a simplified migration experience with the new comprehensive cloud transformation services to migrate existing SAP applications to SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud. This includes options for integration to on-premise SAP applications and other SAP cloud solutions, including those from SAP companies SuccessFactors and Ariba. Maintenance, support and upgrade services will continue under customers' existing maintenance agreements for the migrated applications. With more than 15,000 professionals and several delivery centers across the globe, SAP Services will help customers migrate to SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, offering more simplicity and faster speed.
SAP Expands Worldwide Data Center Footprint
SAP is also expanding its global presence with a comprehensive data center plan spanning four continents. SAP operates 16 data centers worldwide and is broadening its footprint to comply with the local restrictions and regulations, enabling customers to run their business in the SAP Cloud powered by SAP HANA. On April 7, SAP Japan announced that SAP AG has established its first two data centers in the Asia Pacific region in Tokyo and Osaka. All SAP data centers are in memory-centric to dramatically simplify the IT landscape and include high-end servers optimized for enterprise mission-critical workloads. SAP also recently announced it will power all data centers and facilities globally with 100 percent renewable electricity beginning in 2014. The shift will help minimize the company's carbon footprint as it moves to a cloud business model, and will help eliminate carbon emissions caused by its customers' systems by moving them into a green cloud.
