The Home TV channel recreated a distinctly British version of LA's Muscle Beach on the banks of the river Thames last week, to promote their new home de-cluttering show Gutted. The stunt highlighted the fact that unused gym equipment is the single biggest source of household clutter in the UK with 25% of Brits admitting to storing unused and unwanted gym equipment (Source: Gutted survey).
Gutted, presented by Mark Durden Smith, has been billed as the 'cruellest show on TV'. In each episode, Gutted sets out to prove less is more and gives one unsuspecting hoarder the fright of their lives. Nominated by their family (and with their help) the junk lover returns home, puts their key in the door and walks in to discover that everything they own has been removed. All that remains are the bare walls of their house and presenter Mark Durden-Smith, who gives each hoarder 48 hours to get their possessions back. Gutted airs all this week at 9pm on Home http://www.lovehome.co.uk
