Smart Grid Network Designer to Share Secrets of Security, Scalability at GridCom 2010 Panel Today
3 years into the nation's only statewide wireless broadband network for mission critical utility communications, Arcadian Networks discloses promising data
NEW YORK, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at 4 p.m. Jake Rasweiler, of private wireless communications provider Arcadian Networks, will join a panel updating utility engineers and executives on the promise and reality of wireless networking for intelligent utility operations. The panel, "The Smart Grid Wireless Communication Network: Today and Tomorrow," runs from 4 p.m. to 5:30 (track C3) at the GridCom Forum at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California.
Fellow panelists include: Kyle Jones, principal, Greentech Capital Advisors; Bob Gohn, senior analyst, Pike Research; and Tracy Trent, CEO, chairman and co-founder of Proximetry.
Rasweiler, Vice President of Arcadian Networks' IT, Engineering and Network Operations, will share the results of three years of qualitative and quantitative reporting on licensed wireless IP communications networks – including how to accurately model total operating costs for private and commercial utility networks in order to make prudent investment decisions.
With other panelists, Rasweiler will take questions and comment on issues including architecture, security, management, interoperability, scalability, and the smart grid applications now running. Rasweiler, a licensed professional engineer and project management professional with two patents for antenna design and 20 years experience, will outline the ideal methodology for designing a secure, scalable, high performance network.
The group will also cover a vision for tomorrow's smart grid network, including details on structuring a multi-tiered network with current and future applications and approaches, including WiMAX, LTE, cellular, Wi-Fi, mesh and other solutions.
With smart grid projects poised to roll out nationwide through federal stimulus funding and private initiatives, the panel will provide vital insights from proven field projects for those interested in utility networking that is standards-based, built on an IP converged platform, and scalable for tomorrow's growth.
