Small Companies CAN Do Well on the Internet, and Many Are, Despite Mega Websites Like Amazon and eBay
DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Dec. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Diane Buzzeo, CEO of Ability Commerce, says companies who utilize the right resources are seeing a successful holiday season of sales, despite the web dominance by mega websites like Amazon and eBay and big retailers like WalMart and Target. Overall, sales on the Internet are up over 12 percent (Internet Retailer) and after a brief drop following Cyber Monday, the last two weeks are expected to be robust, with a second Billion Dollar day of sales being forecast this week.
Buzzeo, an innovator in software solutions for ecommerce has more than 25 years of experience boosting sales for retailers, is an excellent interview candidate about holiday sales. Ability Commerce specializes in creating software tools for ecommerce retailers.
"Small companies ($5 million to $50 million in annual sales) are experiencing tremendous growth this year provided they have easy to use, well merchandised web sites," said Buzzeo. "Further, they can sell TONS of products on Amazon and use it to acquire new customers.."
As expected, Ability Commerce's clients got off to a strong start this holiday season. Mack's Prairie Wings, premier waterfowl outfitter, kicked off the holiday selling season with an 89 percent increase in sales over last year. Overton's, a water sports retailer, saw an initial increase of 110 percent in Amazon sales over the same period last year using Ability Channel Feed. November was the second biggest online sales month ever for Rimmer Bros, a UK based auto parts company which usually has its lowest sales during the holiday season. Sales for Ability Commerce's clients have continued to soar since Cyber Monday and Buzzeo expects these trends to continue through December.
Even Ability Commerce's smaller companies are doing well. Shar Music, specializing in bowed stringed instruments, who is brand new to Ability Commerce's Amazon Product (Channel Feed), saw the Amazon channel add 8% to their web sales.
