In addition to the Complete EHR certifications, Siemens Healthcare is one of the first vendors to have accomplished certifying a range of software "bundles'" by certifying six additional Modular EHRs. This approach covers the broadest customer base and allows customers to attest certification on the Siemens functionality that they have purchased, even if they have not purchased their entire solution from Siemens. This also allows customers to more easily support achievement of meaningful use through the mix of products, both Siemens and non-Siemens, to meet their specific needs.
A comprehensive listing of the Siemens applications tested for the Complete and Modular EHR certifications appears below and is also available at www.siemens.com/arra-hitech.
"Our intent is to position our entire customer base to pursue the HITECH incentives, as demonstrated by our comprehensive approach to certification," said John Glaser, CEO of Siemens Health Services Business Unit. "Siemens is committed to helping all of our customers succeed in not only achieving meaningful use, but also in delivering exceptional care as supported by their Siemens solutions. Now that we've received certification, we continue to focus on providing tools and services that will help our customers cross the meaningful use finish line and address the emerging challenges facing the industry."
As providers work to meet meaningful use measures, Siemens offers a customized roadmap to meaningful use and related application checklists. These tools are designed to help customers with the job of absorbing hundreds of pages of regulations and then translating them into an ARRA action plan. Beyond the ARRA Roadmap, regularly updated programs like the Siemens ARRA webcast series and the ARRA virtual conferences provide valuable information directly to customers' desktops.
"The scope and complexity of ARRA-HITECH requirements make understanding how to satisfy meaningful use measures a real challenge," said Denton Arledge, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for WakeMed Health & Hospitals, Raleigh, N.C. "It would be much more daunting without the depth of skill and resources available to us from Siemens Healthcare."
These certifications do not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. Specific certification information follows below.
