V2Venture is a fast-paced pitch event geared to take the most innovative startups through a rigorous review and rehearsal process before unleashing them on a live audience and panel of esteemed judges. More than 200 companies submitted to present at V2Venture, where Shuttersong was selected out of 5 finalists in five different categories.
The Shuttersong app creates a better way for people to capture complete life moments by adding 15 seconds of sound or music to any photo and letting them share it anywhere. Richer than a photo and simpler than video, Shuttersong is easy to use and fun for all ages.
The competition will be held on Wednesday, July 16 and take place at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and will feature finalists across five categories including: Education Technologies, Health Technologies, Mobile and Tablet Technologies, Culture and Entertainment Technologies and Innovative World Technologies.
Shuttersong will present alongside five other companies in the Mobile and Tablet Technologies category at 3:00pm.
Christine Herron (Intel Capital) will emcee the competition along with three industry expert judges for each category. Each finalist will give two minutes to present, then the next seven minutes are dedicated to the panel providing feedback. The panel of 15 judges include: Renata Akhunova (Formula VC Venture Fund); Thomas Ball (Austin Ventures); Paige Craig (Foundercraft); Salil Deshpande (Bain Capital Ventures); Don Dodge (Google); Graham Forman (Edovate Capital); Jeff Livingston (McGraw-Hill Education); Bubba Murarka (Draper Fisher Jurvetson); Hany Nada (GGV Capital); Deborah Quazzo (GSV Partner); David S. Rose (Gust); JC Simbana (Silicon Valley Bank); Lisa Suennen (Venture Valkyrie Consulting, LLC); Jeff Tannenbaum (BlueRun Ventures), and Jack Young (Qualcomm Ventures).
"We are thrilled to be named a finalist in the Mobile and Tablet technologies category," said William Agush, founder and CEO of Shuttersong. "According to Mary Meeker 1.8 billion photos are uploaded and shared every day. By enabling people to capture distinct moments and memories with both image and sound, Shuttersong is uniquely positioned in the photo-sharing space. We cannot wait to show the judges how, with our technology, photos have never sounded so good."
"We received an overwhelming response of applicants in the second year and feel that this year's 25 finalists exemplify the best startups in their respective fields," said SXSW V2Venture Event Producer, Chris Valentine.
