TOKYO and AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ShowStoppers® expanded to Asia last week, moderating a press keynote in Tokyo during CEATEC to help the technology wizards of Japan tell the story of recovery to the world – and the producer of press and business events is now gearing up to introduce new products for work, home and play to hundreds of top journalists in New York next week at ShowStoppers for the Digital Holidays.

CEATEC
The keynote pivoted around "the greatest leaps forward that come at times of deep crisis," taking a close look at how to better communicate news about the early wave of technology innovations coming from Japan and on display at CEATEC JAPAN 2012, the first edition of the annual trade fair to take place since the Higashi Nihon Daishinsai, the Great East Japan Disaster that began 11 Mar. 2011 – including smartphone adapters that detect radiation, and prototype smart houses that use solar cells to charge electric cars that, in turn, can supply electricity back to the house during emergencies – and to entire communities when homes and cars are networked via a smart grid.
Journalists from the United States and United Kingdom took part in the discussion and fielded audience questions – including Paul Lamkin, contributing editor of Pocket-lint; Marc Chacksfield, deputy editor of TechRadar; Nicolas Kolakowski, staff editor at eWeek; and Harry McCracken, founder of technologizer and columnist for Time Magazine and CNET. The panel was moderated by Steve Leon, co-founder and partner of ShowStoppers, which worked with CEATEC management to organize booth tours, product demonstrations, executive interviews and other activities for US and European journalists during the show.
