Shoun, Bach, Walinsky & Curran, P.C. Sponsors the Fairfax Law Foundation's Run for Justice
Sponsorship in Memory of Partner Ed Walinsky Who Recently Lost His Battle with Cancer
FAIRFAX, Va., March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of Law Day, the Fairfax Law Foundation will host the 1st Annual Run for Justice 5K race on Sunday, May 2, 2010, in Tyson's Corner, Virginia at Sport & Health Fitness. All proceeds will support the Fairfax Law Foundation, which provides free legal services to underserved populations, youth development and education related to law and the justice system.
Shoun, Bach, Walinsky & Curran, one of the largest family law practices in Northern Virginia, is one of the major contributors to sponsorship monies both to support the community service of the Fairfax Law Foundation and also to honor the memory of Ed Walinsky, a partner at Shoun Bach who had successfully battled cancer for more than three years. He fought valiantly but finally lost his battle on February 28, 2010. Ed was always active in the community and firm members will either join the Shoun Bach race team or serve as volunteers for the race.
Shoun Bach partner Al Bonin noted, "Ed was an old-fashioned citizen/lawyer – he believed in the law as a noble profession, and he gave back to his profession time and again through his work for the Fairfax Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. He was also involved with community service. He would love the idea of this race and the notion of the firm uniting to raise some money for a good cause. He'd also want us all to have a good time, so we're going to use that day to remember the best of Ed, and how much he loved both life and laughter."
