Seven auctions in Southeast feature 300 properties, as foreclosures fall and bank inventories dwindle
ATLANTA, Sept. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The window of opportunity for real estate investors is closing quickly, as banks near the end of the huge inventories of real estate they acquired following the 2008 crash. So the six upcoming John Dixon & Associates auctions of more than 300 properties may be one of the last major opportunities to build up real estate portfolios. The properties will be grouped into 164 offerings.
The events will offer residential and commercial real estate in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, including luxury waterfront home sites, homes, duplexes, office buildings, shopping centers and land. Most are bank owned, and many will be selling absolute.
"Foreclosures are down 67.9 from their peak, according to the CoreLogic National Foreclosure Report, and the foreclosure inventory is down by 27.9 percent from just a year ago, so these are disappearing fast. By combining offerings from a number of banks and other sellers, we're giving buyers another bite at the apple, so to speak," said John Dixon, president of the auction company.
Each event will include a live auction with simulcast video and online bidding available. The series will begin Sept. 29 with auctions of five property offerings in Knoxville (noon) and 36 offerings in Charlotte at 2 p.m.
Other auctions will follow in quick succession:
- Atlanta, Thursday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m., 38 offerings
- Augusta, Thursday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m., 11 offerings
- Tallahassee, Wednesday, Oct. 7, 11 a.m., 27 offerings
- Brunswick, Georgia, Thursday, Oct. 8, 11 a.m., 47 offerings
- Eastman, Georgia, Thursday, Oct. 8, 7 p.m., 265 acres, including subdivision, farm and lake frontage.
