Semiconductor veteran Mark McClear to help drive growth and innovation as chief operating officer of Phononic
DURHAM, N.C., Aug. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark McClear, a veteran semiconductor and electronic materials executive, accustomed to innovation and fast-paced growth, has been appointed chief operating officer at Phononic.
McClear comes to Phononic from Cree, Inc., where he was vice president of Worldwide Sales, and was part of the management team that built the LED unit into a multi-hundred million dollar business in six years. Fast Company named Cree as one of the 50 most innovative companies in 2015. Previously, McClear held business and technical leadership positions at companies including Texas Instruments, Praxair and The Dow Chemical Company.
