Seize the AICI Challenge to Take Charge of Your Career By Learning to Become a Professional Image Consultant
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) California Chapters -- San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California -- join forces to present this educational conference, "A Collage of Learning." The series of workshops will be held Friday, January 22 through Sunday, January 24, 2010.

The conference will be held at Embassy Suites Hotel, San Francisco Airport, Burlingame, CA. Early bird rates (both members and non-members) apply until January 8. A global organization, members attend to earn professional certification units (CEUs) and to update or enhance image skills. AICI encourages professional, accredited certification: First-Level - AICI FLC; Second-Level - CIP, certified image professional; Third-Level - CIM, certified image master, the equivalent of a Ph.D. in the image industry.
There are seven workshops scheduled. Friday's includes "The History of Haute Couture and Its Influence Today" presented by Melissa Leventon, professor at the California College of the Arts in the Fashion and Visual Studies Department, San Francisco. She holds a Master's in the History of Art/History of Dress from the University of London, and has curated numerous costume collections globally.
Saturday's programs include "Your Style Passport: Providing Image Services for Travelers" offered by globetrotting image professional Mimi Dorsey, CIM with an MBA from Cal State University, Bakersfield. She is founder of Unique Image Design, Los Angeles and co-author of "StyleSource: The Power of the Seven Universal Styles for Women and Men."
Sunday's programs feature Carla Mathis, CIM, founder of the Body Beautiful Institute, Venice, CA. Topic: "The Psychology of Style." An internationally known authority on color, image and the psychology of style, she authored "Triumph of Individual Style."
