SEAL Heroes: Pirate Takedown Debuts in Apple's App Store
Game pits Navy SEAL commandos against Somali pirates in fight to free hostages and liberate a hijacked passenger cruise ship
Designed and beta tested by Navy SEAL veterans
Proceeds shared with the SEAL - Naval Special Warfare Foundation, which helps and honors SEAL heroes and their families
KABUL, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Inspired by the U.S. military's fight against the surge in piracy off the coast of Somalia, a new game in Apple's App Store enables players to lead SEAL commandos on a mission to take down pirates and free hostages on a hijacked cruise ship.

SEAL veterans helped design and beta test the game, SEAL Heroes: Pirate Takedown, which is optimized for play on Apple's iPhone, iTouch, and iPad.
Proceeds from the game are being shared with the SEAL - Naval Special Warfare Foundation, whose mission includes helping the families of SEALs killed in action.
The timely, challenging game includes seven levels of play, six types of weapons, and surprise twists and turns, including a VIP hostage and night vision combat.
At the urging of SEAL veterans who helped create SEAL Heroes: Pirate Takedown, gamers score more points for capturing rather than killing pirates.
One of the game's architects, 23-year SEAL veteran Mike Rush, said:
"SEAL Heroes: Pirate Takedown is a fun game featuring challenges like those that real-life Navy SEALs face and overcome. I thank the makers of SEAL Heroes for sharing the game's proceeds with the SEAL - Naval Special Warfare Foundation."
SEAL Heroes: Pirate Takedown was conceived by Eason Jordan, who worked with CNN for more than two decades before launching several of his own companies.
The game is a joint production of Jordan's Headline Apps and Mobile App Works.
The game's chief beta tester was an 11-year-old boy – the only person thus far to complete all seven levels of the game.
