SC Johnson Brazil Recognized as Great Place to Work
Recognition Demonstrates the Company's Commitment to Families
RACINE, Wis., Aug. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SC Johnson announced that it was named a Great Place to Work in Brazil. For the first time, the company has been named to the Great Place to Work in Brazil list by the Great Place to Work® Institute.
"This is an amazing accolade for SC Johnson Brazil," said Fisk Johnson, Chairman and CEO of SC Johnson. "This first-time recognition demonstrates the team's hard work and commitment to bringing our values to life."
More than 1,000 organizations competed to be recognized on the list of 30 Best Small and Medium Size Multinational companies, which were evaluated based on workplace environment, company policies and practices, and personnel surveys.
"I am so thrilled for the team here in Brazil," said Mauro Ramos, Vice President and General Manager of SC Johnson Brazil. "This is a direct result of our hard work and dedication to making SC Johnson Brazil a great place to work."
A Commitment to People and Community
In addition to being a Great Place to Work®, SC Johnson is committed to making lives better for families in the communities in which it operates. In 2012, SC Johnson Brazil established "SC Johnson Volunteers – For the Greater Good," to demonstrate the company's values and dedication to social responsibility locally. The local organization focuses on social causes in six areas of giving: health, education, finance, sustainability, communication and sports.
This year, SC Johnson plans to invest about R$ 1.2 million in socially responsible initiatives among Brazilian communities, which include:
- Partnering For The Best Education Nationwide: SC Johnson established a partnership with the Ayrton Senna Institute for improving education access and quality to more than 200,000 children and youth attending public schools in Brazil.
- Supporting Child Health in Curitiba, Paraná State, Brazil: Through SC Johnson contributions, 953,845 children and teenagers in the Pequeno Príncipe Child Hospital received support in education, research and social mobilization.
- Promoting Sports Access in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: More than 200 children benefit each year from the social project, "SC Johnson Volunteers – Solidarity Star." This program gives low-income children attending public and municipal schools in Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi access to sports, especially football.
