Savvy.com Reboots Shopping Experience With Price Adjustment Weapon for Consumers
New Shopping App Lets Consumers Name their Price and Cash-in On Price Adjustments
Readies Shoppers for Holiday Season by Saving them Money Before and After Purchase
LOS GATOS, Calif., Nov. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pricetector.com, the leading customer-to-retailer loyalty platform for top brands, today announces the launch of Savvy, an app built to save shoppers money even after they have made a purchase. Aimed to eliminate the common problem of post-purchase price reductions once and for all, the app navigates price adjustment policies for consumers and applies any savings automatically. Shoppers no longer need to bring back the goods and receipt within a period of time to activate price reductions. By simply snapping a photo using their smartphone, the Savvy app ensures that consumers only pay the best price possible. With a built-in personal receipt manager and wish list, consumers can capture photos of products they want, set the price they want it for, and easily purchase those items when they hit the ideal price.
The Savvy app is available today with 40 retail partners, including Anthropologie, Best Buy, J. Crew, Pottery Barn, Coach, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Toys 'R' Us with new partnerships added weekly.
"From price checking to daily deal alerts, consumers expect on-the-go data to help them make smart shopping decisions at the initial purchase point, but when it comes to cashing in on price adjustments, customers are largely left on their own," observes Paul Patterson, co-founder, Pricetector.com. "Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the Savvy app removes the hassle of tracking sales, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday specials, by making price adjustments policies work for consumers, giving shoppers the confidence that they'll receive the best deal."
Based on results from Pricetector's research, one in three items go on sale within 30 days of purchase. In 2010 holiday season, consumers missed out on over $20 billion worth of price adjustments – approximately $177 per U.S. household. Savvy app simplifies the price adjustment process for consumers and helps bring these savings into their pockets.
The Savvy app is available for download to for any iOS and Android devices, and is also available online at www.savvy.com. The app offers three features to help ensure savings on goods, whether before or after purchase:
- My Buys - Snap a picture of your receipt from any of the Savvy-enabled stores (link to complete list) and if the price changes within the retailer's stated policy period, an alert will let you know to reclaim the difference. Purchases can also be tracked online.
- Deal Maker - Scan the barcode of an item you want and tell Savvy how much you'd be willing to pay. If the price hits that amount, then Savvy will let you know.
- Watch List - Savvy shoppers can keep a list of items they may want to purchase in the future and receive updates when a special or deal is available.
