Save the date: Next Great City Coalition announces Philadelphia Mayoral Forum in early 2015

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Philadelphia's Next Great City Coalition today announced the date and venue for its upcoming Mayoral Forum. The event will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in conjunction with the Philadelphia Horticultural Society's Philadelphia Flower Show, "Celebrate the Movies." Dave Davies of WHYY FM will serve as moderator.

The Next Great City Coalition consists of over 100 civic, environmental, labor and business organizations that have been working in partnership for the betterment of the city since 2007. As in previous years, the Coalition will identify key initiatives for the four-year period beginning in 2015 which will lead to renewed investment, energy and strength in the city's neighborhoods while supporting sustainable practices and an effective city government. These recommendations were identified through months of discussions with hundreds of residents and community leaders in three robust, town hall-style meetings with an eye toward initiatives that are within the Mayor's authority and can be done at little cost. The new agenda will be announced in early 2015 and developments can be followed on Twitter @NextGreatCity.

PennFuture is a statewide public interest membership organization founded in 1998 with offices in Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre. The organization's activities include litigating cases before regulatory bodies and in local, state, and federal courts; advocating and advancing legislative action on a state and federal level; public education; and assisting citizens in public advocacy.
