WALLDORF, Germany, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced the appointment of Hubertus Kuelps as head of SAP Global Communications. Effective January 3, 2011, Kuelps will be responsible for the company's communications activities and engagement in dialog with SAP stakeholders around the globe, including employees, media, influencers and analysts, customers, partners and governments. Based in Walldorf, Germany, he will report to SAP Co-CEOs Bill McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe.

Kuelps joins SAP after 11 years at Allianz SE, where he last served as head of communications for Allianz of America and Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in the United States. Previous roles included chief operating officer of Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia as well as department head and financial spokesperson at Allianz Group Communications in Munich. Prior to Allianz, Kuelps was the head of communications at the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York. He holds a German law degree and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College in the U.S.
