MEXICO CITY, Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SANLUIS Corporacion, S.A.B. de C.V., a Mexican industrial company engaged in the design and manufacturing of suspension and brake components for the automotive industry, announced it has changed its corporate and legal name to "Rassini, S.A.B. de C.V.," effective November 1st, 2014.
The renaming aligns SANLUIS Corporacion with the Rassini brand, which is how the company is currently known among customers, partners and other global automotive manufacturers. In connection with this change, the Company's ticker on the Mexican Stock Exchange has been amended from "SANLUIS" to "RASSINI".
"Since acquiring Rassini in 1988, the brand has grown into the partner and supplier of choice for the most significant automobile and light truck producers and is now synonymous with innovation, safety, quality and service," said Eugenio Madero, CEO of Rassini North America. "Our customers and the industry already broadly know us as Rassini. By aligning our corporate name and image with our flagship brand, we take a natural step that is consistent with our identity in the industry and what we live inside and outside our organization."
This name change comes on the heels of Rassini's new contract to supply the disc brake rotors for the Audi Q5 crossover model, which will be assembled at the German luxury vehicle producer's first factory in Mexico, at its facility located in San Jose Chiapa, Puebla. Volkswagen, Audi's parent company, has been a longtime customer of Rassini and has used its brake and suspension technology for other vehicle models.
The brakes division of Rassini is a technology leader in North America, known for designing and manufacturing disc and drum brake systems that are used on light vehicles, high performance sports cars as well as in light trucks, SUVs and CUVs. This division currently has a market share of 15 percent in North America and is expected to reach 28 percent in the coming years derived from its existing contracts, which Rassini will begin to supply in the next two years and that support the 40 percent capacity expansion of its foundry operations.
As the world's largest designer and manufacturer of leaf springs for light commercial vehicles, Rassini is also the undisputed leader in the NAFTA and Brazilian leaf spring markets, the primary manufacturer of suspension components on the American continent, and a solidly positioned designer and producer of hi-tech brake hubs, drums and assemblies with the only fully vertically integrated brake rotors facility in the Americas, which includes foundry, machining, anti-corrosive coating, stress relief and FNC (Ferritic Nitro-Carburizing) processes.
