San Francisco International Airport Contracts for PASSUR(R) Solutions
STAMFORD, Conn., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PASSUR Aerospace, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PSSR) announced today that San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has contracted for solutions designed to ensure that the airport's investments in critical business and customer service processes are optimized by the most complete, accurate, and timely flight status information.
"San Francisco International Airport has been a long-time partner of PASSUR's, and we're pleased we can provide another solution to help improve the overall efficiency and cost-effective operation of the airport - as well as ensure that customers get the best flight information," said Jim Barry, President and CEO of PASSUR Aerospace.
This new solution will provide the most accurate and timely flight activity information for SFO's Airport Operational Database (AODB) and related applications and business processes driven by that data. SFO already relies on PASSUR data and reporting solutions for revenue management and planning, as well as solutions for noise management.
This new PASSUR subscription is part of an overall upgrade of SFO's passenger information systems concurrent with the renovation of the Airport's Terminal 2, a $383 million, 587,800-square-foot project which will transform the old International Terminal from a 10-gate wide-body facility into a 13-gate narrow-body and single wide-body configuration for domestic airlines. The project is currently under way and is expected to be completed in early 2011. The terminal is designed by Gensler Architects and Michael Willis Architects, both of San Francisco. The construction is led by Turner Construction, also of San Francisco.
The PASSUR Arrival Management Program
Accurate arrival prediction drives a number of metrics critical to airline and airport productivity and profitability: aircraft turn times/utilization, passenger and bag connections, and optimal gate utilization. PASSUR RightETA has been demonstrated, in real-world airline and airport operating conditions, to reduce the incidence of gate unmets, passenger and bag misconnections, unnecessary gate changes, and extended block times.
PASSUR RightETA, the flight status data feed which will be integrated into SFO systems, is one of a suite of information and software subscription products provided to airlines and airports, and has been demonstrated to be the most accurate ETA available in the market, powering systems such as gate management, scheduling, passenger flight information, and baggage management. The PASSUR ETA is derived from algorithms which are fed by multiple data sources in real time, including flight position information from the network of PASSUR radar systems installed throughout the country. It is calculated by tracking multiple real-time metrics of the target flight as well as other nearby aircraft in the surrounding airspace, along with current and historic airspace conditions, resulting in an unmatched predictive capability. There is no equivalent product on the market today.
