National Sampling Event Celebrates Spring Entertaining Season and Launch of New Cookbook
BENTONVILLE, Ark., April 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- From Easter dinner and outdoor grilling to bridal showers and graduation, springtime celebrations are just around the corner. To make shopping and party planning simple and less stressful, Sam's Club is inviting Members and non-Members alike to a national "Spring Taste of Sam's Club" sampling event from April 15 to 17. This complimentary tasting weekend will showcase gourmet finds and crowd favorites at locations nationwide from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. With an array of delicious items available to try, families can get a head start on seasonal dishes and creative cooking.
Simple Spring Entertaining with New Sam's Club Cookbook
The Spring Taste of Sam's Club event also serves as the official launch of a new Sam's Club cookbook, Fresh, Fast and Fabulous, featuring recipes from renowned barbecue chefs Rod Gray and Troy Black, as well as Sam's Club Members. Fresh, Fast and Fabulous is full of delicious dishes that can be incorporated into party menus or dinnertime routines, including Hawaiian Nachos, Bacon and Bleu Cheese Burgers and Mustard-Thyme Crusted Rack of Lamb. A selection of recipes from the cookbook will be sampled during the event. Each club will have 800 cookbooks available plus a free copy to be given to every new Member.

This recipe for Citrus Chipotle Sauce from grilling guru Troy Black is just one way to treat your taste buds with seasonal ideas from Fresh, Fast and Fabulous. Try it tonight to add some spice to your family dinner.
Citrus Chipotle Sauce
Ingredients: |

1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
|
1/2 cup chopped onions |
|
2 teaspoons garlic, minced |
|
1/2 cup sugar |
|
1/4 cup lemon juice |
|
1 cup orange juice |
|
1/4 cup lime juice |
|
1/4 cup prepared barbecue sauce |
|
1/2 tablespoon chopped canned chipotle chilies |
|
Instructions: Saute onions and garlic in oil for 10 minutes in medium pot. Add sugar, lemon, orange and lime juice. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Add barbecue sauce and chipotle chilies. Cook on low for 5 minutes more. When cool enough, puree in blender. Serve over grilled chicken or pork chops.
