NEW YORK, Aug. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Salvatore Ferragamo announces the launch of the first online trunk show to go live on Friday, August 5th. This important digital initiative marks the brand's first venture into RTW e-commerce which will be available for pre-order on the site for a limited three week time period. The trunk show will offer a range of head-to-toe runway looks from the Fall Winter collection including clothing, shoes and handbags. Quantities will be limited and available to US residents only.
Unique in the luxury digital sector, Ferragamo's online trunk show will feature a user-friendly styling tool where customers can create their own looks by mixing and matching pieces from the actual runway looks as designed by Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti. All user created looks will be socially shareable through Facebook and Twitter.
Friend of the Ferragamo House, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, granddaughter of famed Hollywood star Ingrid Bergman, loyal client and friend to Salvatore, models each Fall Winter runway look on the shoppable site adding to the luxurious lifestyle experience. "I absolutely loved being a part of the Fall 2011 Ferragamo look book, not only because the clothes are gorgeous, but also because I have been an avid admirer of Ferragamo for so many years!" said Elettra Wiedemann. "The materials are luxurious and the designs are fun and feminine with a hint of strong men's tailoring. I found the collection to be glamorous and sexy but still chic and sophisticated!"
The online trunk show will also mark the premiere of the Fall Winter 2011 advertisement campaign. Shot by fashion photographer Mikael Jansson, models Daria Werbowy and Mathias Lauridsen are set against the dazzling Villa d'Este in Lake Como, Italy.
