Salient CRGT Achieves CMMI Maturity Level 3 Appraisal

FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient CRGT, Inc., a leading provider of Agile software development, data analytics, mobility, cyber security, and infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has been formally appraised at Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI Institute's Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for Development.

CMMI is a performance improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. The focus at the organizational level drives consistency and efficiencies which benefit the customer by increasing quality and reducing rework and risk.

An appraisal at Maturity Level 3 indicates the organization is performing at the "Defined" level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization's set of standard processes is robust and sustainable which allows continues improvement so the organization can align with customer needs.

This formal CMMI appraisal was the first one completed since Salient Federal and CRGT merged late last year. The integration of the two companies was completed in less than six months, allowing the Quality team to start the appraisal process in March.  Since the early 2000s, significant portions of the legacy software development operations within Salient CRGT have demonstrated continued process maturity performance achieving CMMI-Development Maturity Level 3 numerous times.
