SAE International Conference Reaches Automotive Industry Professionals via Mediasite
2010 World Congress created virtual event using Sonic Foundry Event Services
MADISON, Wis., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonic Foundry, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, today announced that SAE International, a professional global mobility engineering society, selected Sonic Foundry Event Services to create blended global events via Mediasite.
SAE International needed a cost-effective way to create a hybrid event for its 2010 World Congress, held in Detroit. The intent was to deliver virtual presentations to attendees who couldn't attend onsite due to travel and budget constraints.
"Today's economic climate – especially its reflection on the automotive industry – offers a unique opportunity to share information," said Patti Kreh, manager, engineer meetings, SAE International. "From layperson to leading engineer, everyone is vying for insights concerning future endeavors and industry direction. Creating a hybrid event featuring Mediasite provided a way to deliver salient lectures beyond the conference walls to ensure virtual attendees benefited from the same advantages as onsite attendees."
Keynote sessions were webcast using Mediasite and are available for on-demand public viewing at www.sae.org/congress/webcasts.
"Sonic Foundry Event Services offered the turnkey solution we were looking for. It was refreshing to know the live webcasts would be streamed without a hitch and the on-demand presentations would be published online just moments after the sessions ended," said Darlene Waychoff, manager, events and travel operations, SAE International. "The Event Services team combined with the Mediasite platform is an exciting alliance that we look forward to applying at future conferences."
"International communication demands a reliable, practiced solution, and Mediasite delivers. We feel privileged that SAE World Congress chose Sonic Foundry Events Services to help propel the automotive industry's revival," said Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and CEO of Sonic Foundry. "We look forward to a continued partnership with the organization."
