AURORA, Ohio, April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Chris Otto has been promoted to manager of The RoviSys Company's Southeast Region and to the director level for the 400-person life sciences and manufacturing automation service provider with offices in Cleveland, Boston, Raleigh-Durham and Singapore.

Otto is a 24-year veteran of the process automation industry with extensive experience as a project manager for biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients. With this promotion, he now leads the company's 75-person automation services office in Apex, North Carolina.

Otto was previously group manager in RoviSys' life sciences automation division, which provides services to the world's leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. He has been the project manager on more than four dozen projects as large as $4 million. He has also worked with clients in the paper and packaging industry.

His technical experience includes automation and validation for bioreactors, CIP/SIP, purification, buffer prep, fermentation, recovery, centrifugation, filtration, chromatography and more. His regulatory experience includes GAMP-based batch design, records and CFR21Part11 compliance. His systems experience includes DeltaV, Moore APACs, Siemens, Rockwell and other technologies.
Previously he was automation engineer at Reliance Electric and Bailey Controls. He earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. He has earned RoviSys certifications in project management, DeltaV, FDA regulations, good documentation practices and GAMP 4 and 5.
