TRADING SYMBOL: TSX: R
TORONTO, April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Romarco Minerals Inc. (TSXV: R) ("Romarco" or the "Company") announces that it has received additional assay results from two holes, RC-1733 and RC-1735 which follow-up on drilling beneath the Snake Pit. These holes are follow up holes to recently disclosed RC-1565 and RC-1573 (see December 1, 2009 press release). RC-1733 encountered the target horizon 24 meters (80 feet) east of RC-1565. In RC-1733 the target consisted of a 9.1 meter (30 feet) zone of 4.3 g/t (0.125 oz/t) gold and another 9.1 meter zone of 4.3 g/t (0.125 oz/t) gold separated by 3.1 meters of weakly mineralized material. RC-1735 encountered the target horizon 24 meters (80 feet) north of RC-1573. RC-1735 encountered 19.8 meters (65 feet) of 9.8 g/t (0.285 oz/t) gold. This zone included a higher grade interval of 7.6 meters (25 feet) of 22.3 g/t (0.650 oz/t) gold. The results of the two holes are summarized in the table below.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hole Interval From To Gold (meters) (meters) (meters) (g/t) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- RC-1733 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 9.1 48.8 57.9 4.5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 12.2 64.0 76.2 1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 4.6 153.9 158.5 1.1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 9.1 201.2 210.3 4.3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 9.1 213.4 222.5 4.3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- RC-1735 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 7.6 19.8 27.4 1.8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 7.6 42.7 50.3 2.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 7.6 185.9 193.5 1.9 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interval 19.9 237.7 257.6 9.8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Including 7.6 239.3 246.9 22.3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently five drill rigs are operating at the site. Drilling is being performed by Boart Longyear, Romarco's company owned drill, and Connors drilling. The drill samples are being assayed by Alaska Assay Labs in Fairbanks, AK. Blank samples as well as third party standards were submitted with all of the drill holes. The results of the control samples were within acceptable ranges. Romarco's Qualified Person under NI 43-101 is Peter J. Butterfield.
