Rockhopper Adventure Trail Run Returns to Kosrae Island in Micronesia
TOFOL, Federated States of Micronesia, Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Scuba divers and adventure travelers can now experience Kosrae's stunning tropical landscape in a different way with the second Rock Hopper Adventure Trail Run on Monday, September 1. The 5.7-mile run will include on-road and off-road terrain. Runners and their cheering parties can enjoy exploring Kosrae's lush rainforests, ancient ruins, and meeting local craftspeople along with world-class diving with one of Kosrae's local dive shops.

The secluded island of Kosrae, located halfway between Hawaii and Guam is home to some of the world's most unspoiled coral reefs and blue-water dive sites.
To register for the race click here. The $15 race entry fee includes a commemorative race tee shirt. The deadline for the race registration is August 31. Runners and walkers are encouraged to participate.
Two hotels on the island are offering special room rates around the time of the Rockhopper Run. The Kosrae Village Resort is offering 20% off lodging for the first two weeks of September for the Rockhopper Trail Run as well as Kosrae's Liberation Day celebration. Kosrae's Pacific Treelodge Resort is offering special package rates for the event. Accommodations are also available at the Kosrae Nautilus Resort. Kosrae's scuba diving, tropical beauty and relaxing vibe are plenty enough reason to visit the island. Kosrae also hosts cultural and commemorative events year round. Visiting during these times is a great way to see Kosrae at its most festive.
