Robins & Morton Announces New CFO and Sr. Vice President
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Robins & Morton announces the hiring of Edward Cassady as its CFO & Sr. Vice President with general responsibility for the administrative operations of the Company and an integral leadership role in developing new capabilities for the Company.
Mr. Cassady returns to Birmingham to join Robins & Morton from The Martin Companies, a venture firm in Nashville, Tennessee focused on providing financial and other support to startup companies. Prior to that, Mr. Cassady held a number of roles with BE&K, Inc. where he had risen to the level of Executive Vice President with responsibilities for strategic planning, sales & marketing, and board of directors roles with several of the BE&K family of companies. A graduate of Duke University, Vanderbilt School of Law, and the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School, Mr. Cassady began his career in Birmingham as a judicial clerk to the Honorable James H. Hancock at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama before joining the Bradley Arant Rose & White law firm (now Bradley Arant Boult Cummings) where he became a partner with a practice focused on international dispute resolution, primarily in the construction industry.
Mr. Cassady has a long history of involvement in various professional organizations in the Construction industry, including service as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Construction Education and Research, and a fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers. Mr. Cassady has taught classes at the University Of Alabama School Of Law and at Duke University's Masters in Engineering Management School.
