HONG KONG, March 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ribose, a start-up that redefines the way people collaborate, is the first to achieve STAR Certification from the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) fully compliant to the new cloud security standard: Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM) 3.0.
This certification means that Ribose is committed to protecting user information to the greatest extent possible. Users can be confident their privacy and data will always be respected and protected, and that they can collaborate freely on Ribose to innovate and succeed with their teams.
Ribose is currently the only organization to achieve STAR Certification compliance under the new CCM 3.0 standard. It is one of only two organizations worldwide to achieve Gold Certification, the highest level, based on its security measures and controls as assessed by the British Standards Institution (BSI). Ribose is also the first software-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud service provider to achieve STAR Certification under CCM 3.0 with SaaS services fully covered in the certification scope.
STAR Certification is the first internationally recognized cloud security certification program. Developed jointly by the CSA and BSI, it places stringent and extensive requirements and controls on information security management systems, including comprehensive coverage of cloud security. Certification is awarded only after a CSA-recognized independent auditor conducts a thorough audit and verifies that the organization's applications, systems, processes and services fully comply with STAR's requirements, including ISO/IEC 27001 and CCM 3.0.
According to David Horlock, Asia Pacific Managing Director, BSI, "CSA STAR Certification is a rigorous assessment by a CSA-recognized independent body and provides customers with a benchmark to make informed decisions on cloud services. Achieving the Gold award shows Ribose's leadership and commitment to delivering professional and secure cloud services through world-class best practices."
"CSA STAR Certification is a comprehensive, industry-accepted program covering numerous security control areas and capabilities," said Jim Reavis, CEO of CSA. "As the first to adopt and verify compliance with the new CCM 3.0 cloud security standard, Ribose has demonstrated its commitment to cloud security, giving users confidence to collaborate freely on the Ribose platform."
