Welcome to Sept. issue of Herbicides China News published by CCM International, a professional consulting company who has been extensively and intently focusing on dynamics of China's herbicide industry.
Following last issue, in Herbicides China News 1009, CCM International continues reporting several major agrochemical companies' business performance in H1 2010, like Nantong Jiangshan and Lier Chemical. And we are not optimistic on current herbicide market and the whole agrochemical industry.
Large amount of listed agrochemical companies witnessed underperformance, though many herbicide production projects are being planned or underway at present. In the future, coupled with flying development of China's economy, herbicide industry will see development of epic proportion.
However, before the ongoing reorganization of pesticide industry finished, herbicide industry will still stay at stagnant situation in coming future. Especially, with Chinese government's stricter requirements on environment protection, all pesticide companies will be confronted with larger challenge.
CCM International will continuously follow the herbicide market in China with interest, and pray for all enterprises.
The gloomy shadow still covered Chinese herbicide industry in H1 2010, though Chinese government and domestic herbicide enterprises have taken many active measures to revive the stagnant herbicide industry.
Lier Chemical's business performance in H1 2010 witnessed decline in net profit by 35.95% year on year to USD6.1 million.
Hubei Sanonda's net profit decreased by USD4.7 million in H1 2010 over the corresponding period of 2009.
Nantong Jiangshan's net profit tumbled 490% year on year in H1 2010.
Noposion achieved rapid development in H1 2010, though net profit witnessed drop of 12% year on year.
Shenghua Biok's net profit declined by 4% year on year to USD9.5 million and revenue witnessed growth of 21% year on year to USD132.7 million in H1 2010.
Herbicide industry in China may benefit from the flying development of China's economy.
Fluroxypyr registration slowed down in the first eight months of 2010 in that fluroxypyr market is not promising in current years.
China's herbicide export volume and value reached 76,000 tonnes and USD198 million respectively in Q2 2010, both witnessing decrease over the corresponding period of 2009.
Lianhe Chemical launched 600t/a cyhalofop-butyl project on Aug. 11th.
Jiangsu Lvlilai will launch several relocated herbicide plants this month.
Current glyphosate price witnessed slight increase primarily, thanks to the abolishment of glyphosate technical export rebate in China.
Yellow phosphorous price soared to USD2,084/t in Aug. 2010, and this uptrend will continue in coming months.
Changshu Liling became the first domestic oxaziclomefone registrant.
