Rep. Ron Paul to Appear at Inaugural Virginia Tea Party Patriot Convention
RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- Congressman Ron Paul, called "the one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill, will speak at the inaugural Virginia Tea Party Patriots Convention in Richmond, Va. on Oct. 8-9.
Rep. Paul will open the Saturday general session prior to the National Policy forum with an inspiring address on how America can restore the balance of power between the people, states, and federal government.

Congressman Paul, who also is a physician, tirelessly works for limited, constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In 1976, Rep. Paul was one of only four Republican congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for president.

The two-day Virginia Tea Party Patriot Convention, themed "The Constitution Still Matters," will be held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, and is sponsored by the Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation, a statewide federation of local, non-partisan Tea Party and Patriot groups.
It will feature speakers addressing the importance of the Constitution and limited government during a time of unprecedented government expansion. More than 40 breakout seminars will be offered on the Constitution/U.S. political history, current public policy, and grassroots activist training. A "Freedom Lovers Extravaganza" event is scheduled for Friday evening at the Downtown Marriott. The convention ends with a first-ever tea party presidential straw poll.
Nationally known speakers will include Lou Dobbs, Dick Morris, John Fund, Herman Cain, JennyBeth Martin, and Virginia (Ginni) Lamp Thomas. Discussing how to streamline state government will be Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, and moderator Dr. Bob Holsworth. Participating in the National Policy Forum will be Rep. Steve King of Iowa, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and former Virginia governor and senator George Allen.
All of Virginia's congressional incumbents, congressional candidates, state senators, and delegates have been invited to attend and participate, regardless of party affiliation.
