PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak (NASDAQ: RENT), the leader in precisely measuring movies and TV everywhere, today announced it has entered into a partnership with Gower Street Analytics (GSA), a London-based movie analytics firm, to create products that will improve the efficiency of the global movie market through advanced data science and real-time movie measurement.
The groundbreaking partnership will marry GSA's powerful array of technology-based forecasting engines to Rentrak's movie measurement information, giving media executives access to never-before available behavioral models to analyze strategy decisions based on sophisticated, analytics-driven information on audience behavior. The result will be products that help create better and faster decisions in a quickly changing competitive landscape.
The first product to be introduced is a global distribution-planning tool that generates estimates for all titles with a planned release date, up to 18 months before their theatrical release, allowing distributors to optimize their release strategy and maximize slate box office performance. The second product is a screen booking optimization tool that will evaluate the performance of all possible booking scenarios, enabling exhibitors to generate optimal booking recommendations and maximize the weekly potential performance of each site.
